Here are some highlights of the European Film Festival in which we attended from the 30th March-1st April 2012. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc2neD5vvJQ&feature=BFa&list=UUZvzrlKt9WnMIEUrjFp6djA
The Film Festival included short films, feature films, documentaries and animations from all over the world. This was a good opportunity to expand our knowledge on the film industry and listening to director's commentaries was a good way to see how short films and documentaries were distributed. We were given the chance to ask the directors questions such as where they started off in the film industry and how we could improve our film skills.
A specific example of a film from the ECU was called 'The Forest is Red', directed by David Jakubovic. This film was one of the feature films from the festival and was about a dysfunctional man who hears voices which fight for his attention. I particularly liked this film because it told many stories and kept the audience focused due to the many twists involved. The film inspired me to create films that are slightly more twisted and dark or, at least, experiment with scripts with more eerie stories.
Overall this was a fantastic opportunity to further my knowledge of the film industry.

ReplyDeleteHi Charlie, could you embed the videos instead of pasting the URL codes? Also on your first post can you take out the 'just to be clear' comment and write about the project instead in terms of how you started as a group, what on the blog you did as a group and what you produced individually. I'm finding myself going between the blogs trying to figure it out for myself. Then have your final products and state that the planning and development for them can be found throughout the blog posts. Nearly there....
